CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin on Tuesday visited the family of murdered BSP state unit president K Armstrong and assured a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Armstrong was hacked to death near his residence on Friday.
Accompanied by HR&CE minister P K Sekarbabu, Stalin visited Armstrong’s residence in Ayanavaram in North Chennai and paid floral tributes to the leader’s portrait.He expressed deep condolences to Armstrong’s widow, Porkudi, and other family members.
“The chief minister assured that a thorough probe will be conducted in the case and all those involved in the heinous act would be arrested and brought to justice,” said an official release.
The state government provided the necessary arrangements, including security for the funeral.
BSP chief and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati paid homage to Armstrong on Sunday. She demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the killing.
